Rubeus loved Aragog, but no one could see him.

So this had to be a secret or something bad might happen.

Rubeus fed Aragog quietly and played with him in his large box that he now had to use for the growing spider. He was thrilled whenever he could sneak away to do this quietly.

"Aw'rioght Aragog, I'ma gona start given ya meat. But if ya star' gettin to bitten then I'll 'ave ta put'cha back on little ol' bugs. And neither of us wan' tha' cause then I 'ave ta go out an' catch the little fellers," Rubeus said with a smile.

Suddenly Rubeus heard someone's voice directly behind him and Rubeus froze in terror.

Rubeus always hated leaving the little guy but if anyone ever found it... Well, Rubeus didn't want to think about that.

He walked down the stairs and into the common room. There he waved at a couple of students and smiled. They all realed back in terror but Rubeus was used to that. He exited the common room and walked into the great hall. As he was walking away he said good mourning to the painting of the fat lady in front of the door, which some would call odd but the painting did move so that you could talk to it didn't it?

Well in any case, the painting called Rubeus an oaf as he walked away but Rubeus was used to much worse.

Rubeus walked into the great hall and looked around the room for a second untill he spotted who he was looking for and walked over to them.

"Hi ther' Acatia. Wan' ta 'ave breakfas' with me on this lovely mournin?" Rubeus said with a smile.

Hagrid walked up behind Acacia as she ate. The speech had just finished and all of the first years had been sorted and it was time for the food to arrive. Hagrid came up right behind Acacia.

"Well hullo there Acacia. I'm hopin' ya had a goo' summer away from 'ogwarts." Then Hagrid leaned in close to Acacia's ear and whispered, "An' don' ya worry 'bout the little guy ya gave me before summer. He was a bit fiesty a' firs' but I was able ta tame the little gioy," Hagrid said with a smile.

Hagrid sat in his new home for a second, just to soak it all in.

Hagrid had:
-Lost his mom when he was three
-Lost his father this summer
-Then been adopted (sort of) by Dumbledore and stays in a shack on the grounds

Why had Mister Albus been so kind as to take in a half giant loppy kid. Well whatever the reason, Hagrid didn't mind.

Why hadn't the same invitation been given to that Tom Riddle kid, Hagrid wondered.
